In the fall of 2005 and spring of 2006, I volunteered and taught digital photography and Photoshop at the Indigenous Photography Archive (AFI), a program providing indigenous Mexican photographers the materials and skills to document their lives, families and communities, in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. Amidst the rich and complex culture of the Chiapas Highlands, I began photographing a personal body of work, some of which you can view in my updated "Mexico" gallery.

Back in the Pacific Northwest, I continued expanding my work to include some local commercial photography and design, as well as portraiture and fine art exhibits and sales. Please see the new "Custom Imagery & Design" picture gallery for samples of some of the work I produced in 2005 and 2006.

Since earning my degree in photojournalism from the University of Montana, I have worked as a course assistant with the Santa Fe Workshops and as a photo editor at Money Magazine in New York City. In New York, I was also fortunate to meet the late Eddie Adams, for whom I volunteered time at his Bathhouse studio and annual photojournalism workshop, 'Barnstorm.'

I believe photography is a powerful tool that can connect people in spite of geographic, racial, or cultural differences. As a photographer, I have privileged access to a range of human emotion. With pictures, I am able to share the beauty and truth that I find in everyday life.

I am currently based in Veracruz, Mexico. Please check back periodically for new additions to the image galleries. Thanks.
